BASF retains title of most valuable chemicals brand for 10th consecutive year
For the 10th year in a row, BASF (brand value up 11% to USD9.2 billion), has held onto the position of the most valuable chemicals brand in our global rankings.
Every year, leading brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance puts 5,000 of the biggest brands to the test, and publishes over 100 reports, ranking brands across all sectors and countries. The world’s top 25 most valuable and strongest Chemicals brands are included in the annual Brand Finance Chemicals 25 2024 ranking.

INEOS records remarkable 23% brand value growth, reaches USD1.7 billion
INEOS (brand value up 23% to USD1.7 billion) experienced a surge in brand value, climbing six ranks to the 15th spot among the most valuable chemicals brands. INEOS’ BSI score also increased 1.7 points to 64.9 of 100 alongside a corresponding brand strength rating of AA-
DuPont remains in its element as the strongest chemicals brand ranked
In addition to calculating brand value, Brand Finance also determines the relative strength of brands through a balanced scorecard of metrics evaluating marketing investment, stakeholder equity, and business performance. Compliant with ISO 20671, Brand Finance’s assessment of stakeholder equity incorporates original market research data from over 100,000 respondents in 38 countries and across 31 sectors.
DuPont (brand value up 1% to USD1.9 billion) has retained its position as the strongest chemicals brand in our rankings. It is followed closely by LG Chem (brand value down 7% to USD4.2 billion), which also maintained its second placing from 2023.
BASF has highest Sustainability Perceptions Value of USD773 million; Linde holds highest positive gap value of USD12 million
As part of its analysis, Brand Finance assesses the role that specific brand attributes play in driving overall brand value. One such attribute, growing rapidly in its significance, is sustainability. Brand Finance assesses how sustainable specific brands are perceived to be, represented by a ‘Sustainability Perceptions Score’. The value that is linked to sustainability perceptions, the ‘Sustainability Perceptions Value’, is then calculated for each brand.
The 2024 Sustainability Perceptions Index finds that in the chemicals sector, BASF has the highest Sustainability Perceptions Value of USD773 million. Meanwhile, Linde has the highest positive gap value of USD12 million among brands in the rankings.
