Brand Name – Definition

The term brand name is frequently used when discussing "Brand", however it is more correctly used when discussing the written or spoken elements of a brand. In this instance a "brand name" is an example of a trademark, if the brand name identifies (exclusively) the brand owner as the source of certain products or services.

With regards to Brand Finance, a number of brand owners seek to understand the value of their brand name as part of measuring the value of their intangible assets.
