Brand history
Genting Highlands Resort, built in 1965, has grown to become one of the most popular premier tourist attractions in Asia, providing a holistic package of entertainment, leisure, dining and convention facilities.
Under the leadership of the late Tan Sri (Dr) Lim Goh Tong and his son Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Genting has since expanded internationally, rising to become the biggest player in the United Kingdom gaming sector and having the distinction of being one of the two exclusive gaming-license holders in Singapore.
Geography and products
The group, from its initial leisure and hospitality activities, has now expanded and diversified their business into plantations, properties, power generation, oil and gas, e-commerce and development of information technology.
The group also holds a stake in Star Cruises Limited, a global cruise brand ranked amongst the top 3 largest cruise operator in the world.
