Key people

Peter Seah Lim Huat, Chairman

On 1 May 2010, Peter Seah became the Chairman of DBS. He is also Chairman of the Executive Committee and a member of the Board Risk Management Committee, Audit Committee, Compensation and Management Development Committee and Nominating Committee. Peter joined DBS as a Director on 16 November 2009.

Peter is presently the Chairman of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd and Deputy Chairman of CapitaLand. He is a member of the Temasek Advisory Panel.

Peter is a Director on the boards of various Temasek-linked companies including StarHub Ltd. He also serves on the board of Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd. Peter is also the Chairman of LaSalle Foundation Limited and Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd and is a member of the Defence Science and Technology Agency.

Peter was previously President & CEO of Singapore Technologies Pte Ltd. Prior to that, he was with Overseas Union Bank (OUB) since 1977, holding several senior positions and becoming its President & CEO in 1991. Peter retired as Vice Chairman and CEO from OUB on 30 September 2001. Peter graduated from the University of Singapore with an honours degree in business administration.

Piyush Gupta, Chief Executive Officer 

Mr Piyush Gupta is Chief Executive Officer and Director of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank Ltd., as well as Director of DBS’ subsidiary companies, The Islamic Bank of Asia Limited and DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited.

Prior to joining DBS, Piyush was Citigroup’s Chief Executive Officer for South East Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand.

Piyush began his career with Citibank in India in 1982 and over the years, held various senior management roles across Citi's corporate and consumer banking businesses, including Head of Strategic Planning for Emerging Markets and Regional Director for Global Transaction Services for Asia Pacific. He has also served as Citi's Country Officer for Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore as well as the ASEAN Head of the Institutional Clients Group.

Piyush’s external appointments have included being a member of the Indonesian Government’s Debt Restructuring Committee, Chairman of the Foreign Banks' Association in Indonesia and Board positions on the Kuala Lumpur Business Roundtable, the International School of Kuala Lumpur, AMCHAM Malaysia and AMCHAM Singapore. He is also a past Chairman of the Financial Services Committee of the US-ASEAN Business Council.

He currently serves on the Group of Experts to the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum and on the boards of The Institute of Banking and Finance, Global Indian Foundation, Dr. Goh Keng Swee Scholarship Fund and the MasterCard Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa Regional Advisory Board. He is an advisory board member of Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics and also a member of the Governing Council of the Human Capital Leadership Institute.

Married with two children, Piyush has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, India and an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.
