JEAN-PAUL CHIFFLET, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole S.A., Chairman of LCL-Le Crédit Lyonnais

Born in 1949

Jean-Paul Chifflet took office as Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole S.A. on 1 March 2010. Chairman, LCL-Le Crédit Lyonnais and Chairman of the Board of Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.

Jean-Paul Chifflet joined Crédit Agricole du Sud-Est in 1973 as head of sales management. He was appointed Corporate Secretary of Crédit Agricole de la Drôme in 1980 and Corporate Secretary of Crédit Agricole du Sud-Est in 1986. In 1990, he was named Head of Development and Lending at Crédit Agricole du Sud-Est. In 1992, he joined Crédit Agricole Ain Saône-et-Loire as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and held that same office at Crédit Agricole Centre-Est from 1995. In 1997, Jean-Paul Chifflet was named Head of Relations with Regional Banks at Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole, then, in 2000, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole Centre-Est.

He is also a member of the Conseil Economique et Social in Paris (since 2007) and a member and officer of the Board of Confédération Nationale de la Mutualité, de la Coopération et du Crédit Agricole (CNMCCA).

Mr Chifflet is a graduate of Institut des Hautes Finances de Paris (IHFI) and a Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite.
