KELLY S. KING, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kelly King is chairman and chief executive officer of BB&T Corporation. In January 2009, he was named a director of The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Before his election to CEO on Jan. 1, 2009, Mr. King served as BB&T’s chief operating officer from 2004 to 2008. He joined BB&T’s Management Development Program in 1972 and has served in many roles, including manager of its Central and Metropolitan regions, Raleigh city executive, Charlotte business services manager, Statesville consumer lending manager, and banking manager for BB&T’s branch network.

CHRISTOPHER L. HENSON, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Henson began his banking career in 1985 when he entered BB&T’s Management Development program.  He has served as chief financial officer of BB&T Corporation, city executive in Wilson and Greensboro, N.C., president of BB&T’s Hampton Roads Region, and president of BB&T’s Atlanta Region, as well as Georgia State President. He was named as BB&T's chief operating officer effective Jan. 1, 2009.

DARYL N. BIBLE, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Bible joined BB&T in January 2008 after a 24-year career with U.S. Bancorp, the last 10 years as treasurer. He began his career in the Management Development Program at U.S. Bank predecessor Star Banc. Bible served in a number of key positions prior to treasurer, including financial analyst, asset/liability manager, investment portfolio manager and funds manager. He was named “Bank Borrower of the Year” for 2007 by Euromoney magazine. He served as assistant chief financial officer of BB&T Corporation and was named its chief financial officer effective Jan. 1, 2009.
